Pradnya Kamble — Founder, The Block & Bloom
Pradnya Kamble · Founder

A Mumbai girl at heart, shaped by a childhood filled with colour, craft, and curiosity.

My summer holidays were spent creating something out of fabric — colourful kantha on cotton, embroidery on dresses, tiny handmade experiments that taught me early on that an object could hold memory, warmth, and intention all at once.

I chose Pharmacy as my career and built a life in research, but the need to create — to express myself through handmade things — never left me.

"In 2018, I moved to the United States. I built a career, raised a child, and made a home. Through all of it, I carried a quiet wish: to create something genuine. Something rooted. Something handmade. Something fair."

One block at a time,
one print at a time.

With no background in textiles and no formal design training, I stepped into the world of block printing — one of India's oldest and most meditative crafts. In it, I found exactly what I had been carrying all along: something that felt deeply familiar to me.

The Block & Bloom is not just a brand. It is a continuation of something that began in those childhood summers — and it is still unfolding. I am on this journey as an artist, a designer, and a maker, learning and creating while sharing a glimpse of modern India with the world.
