Meet the Founder:
I'm Pradnya, the founder of The Block & Bloom. By profession I'm a scientist and a mom to a sweet little boy — this brand is what I pour the rest of myself into.
The Block & Bloom didn't begin with a lifelong plan. It began with a search — for something to build that felt genuine, made by hand, and worth caring about. Somewhere in that search I discovered hand block printing, and I fell for it completely: the patience of it, the way every piece is stamped by hand rather than by machine, the fact that no two are ever exactly alike.
I moved to the United States in 2018 and built a life here — a career, a home, and a little boy who keeps me on my toes. But the wish to make something of my own, something rooted and handmade, never quite left.
So I began working with skilled artisans near Jaipur who have practiced this craft for generations. Everything we make is curated in Boston and hand-printed by their hands, in small batches, one piece at a time. When you choose a piece, you help keep this craft — and the families who carry it — alive.
